This little piggy...

Looking right at the camera!
Such a sweetie! Gotta love her chubby cheeks :-)
Our sleeping beauty! Does she have a gorgeous little mouth or what?!
So serious...
Berkley's cute profile!
You might be asking yourself why I titled this post "This little piggy..." Well, allow me to explain. Berkley has been sort of fussy nursing the last week and a half, and being the worry-wart I am, I made three phone calls to Dr. McKenna's office asking what might be the problem. After three different, yet seemingly valid answers and a persistently fussy eater, I decided to take her in for a weight check and talk to Dr. Mckenna's nurse in person. I described the situation to the nurse and the three answers I was given. Then, I put Berkley on the scale and found out that the problem is NOT that she's not getting enough... she weighs 10lbs 15oz @ 4 weeks old. The nurse explained to me that she may be overeating due to over-production and advised me to alter the way I nurse. The last day and a half has been wonderful; I enjoy nursing again, and Berkley is no longer the fussy baby she was last week! What's so funny about her weight is that Chloe weighed that much at 8 weeks. I guess we do have a little piggy on our hands :-)

4 weeks old!!!

Holy cow!! It's so hard to believe that Berkley was born four weeks ago! The time has flown to say the least. Barely a month old and already having to endure her sisters antics... this was Chloe's not so gentle attempt to re-position Berkley for the photo :-)
What a cute little bug

Look at that round little belly hanging out!

She pulls some of the funniest and cutest faces

Crazy Chloe

Chloe loves the masks, or "maskes" as she calls them, we got her for Christmas. Despite our attempts to get her to wear them as they're intended, she insists on wearing them like this... She is a totally crazy little babe, but we sure do love her so much!!

A cone + carseat = MESS

The other day we went over to Preston to watch Owen's t-ball game. Afterwards, we asked Chloe if she'd like to go get a vanilla mini cone, and she obviously said "yes." She made a ROYAL mess of herself and her seat, so Chad decided to just carry her inside in her carseat so that the entire mess could be more easily cleaned! It was hilarious to say the least :-)

Just hanging out

Chloe & Berkley hanging out together. Chloe loves her SO much-- it's simply too cute :-)
What a doll! Love this little girl to death!!
Cutie patootie! I can't help but see SO much of Chad in her. She's such a fun little baby, and she's much like Chloe was as an infant-- at this point, she'd been awake for nearly 4 hours! In fact, she was awake for a 5 1/2 hour stretch today... not much like a newborn, huh?!
Relaxing. Berkley actually doesn't mind being on her belly, but she'd rather turn her head to the side & suck on her hand rather than attempting to lift her head up! We're not worried, though, because she has a strong back & neck just like her older sister did!

Adorable

Literally hanging out with Daddy :-) She was a little gassy, and this position seemed to help.
Too adorable! She looks pretty comfy, huh?! Well, she actually fell asleep in this position-- not my choice, but she seemed happy!
So cute! Here's Chloe showing off her new dress; she loves it and so do we! Thanks Uncle Mike & Aunt Emmy :-)

Sisters, friends

Look at the profiles of these girls! They're SO similar, especially in the nose and upper lip area (though that's all you can really see in this one as Chloe was burying her face into the couch). They're sisters now, but in the future we're sure they'll be great friends :-)
Cutie girls! I know I'm biased, but aren't our girls extremely adorable?! They simply make me smile... well, almost all the time ;-)

So cute! I love this pic because it looks like Berkley is smiling! This actually might be a gas smile since she had just eaten and was laying on her belly thus creating pressure and causing her to release gas-- holy cow, was that a HUGE run-on sentence or what? My apologies :-)
Chloe holding Berkley... again! She always asked to hold her, and we always break out the camera in hopes of snapping the PERFECT picture. Fat chance, but they're all cute anyway!

Playing sisters

Our adorable Chloe pushing Berkley in the swing. She absolutely LOVES pushing her, despite the fact that we encourage her to just talk to her while she swings since the swing can propel itself! Another aspect of the swing that gets on our nerves is that when pushed it typically stops self-propelling after a short length of time, which is not beneficial when Berkley has fallen asleep in the swing! Nonetheless, Chloe loves playing with Berkley!
Chunky monkey face!
While Chloe thoroughly enjoys holding and cuddling Berkley, Berkley begs to differ on many occassions. Here is one of those times caught on camera :-)

Berkley-- 2 Week

Berkley is already 2 weeks old! It's insane how quickly time passes... She checked out GREAT at her 2-week well check-up. She's 9lbs & 20 1/2 inches, which puts her all around in the 75%. Dr. McKenna says he's really impressed with her weight gain (she returned to her birth weight by her 5 day well visit and gained 1lb in the following week); this is a huge accomplishment for me since I was unable to produce enough milk for Chloe. Yay!
Anyway, I loved these little pics. Doesn't she look SO much like Chad in the bottom picture?! And, maybe it's just me being hopeful, but it seems like she has got some red in that hair of hers... hip hip :-)

Sisterly love...

Big sister Chloe helping Daddy burp little sister.
What a babe :-)
Chloe blocking Berkley from the camera-- she kept saying, "Don't look at that camera!" I'm not sure where the "love" comes in here, but it's definitely sisterly ;-)

Two gorgeous girls

Sleeping obviously occupies a large amount of Berkley's day. She's gorgeous even when snoozing!
Love this adorable pose :-)

:-)
Gotta love her gorgeous, squishy face
This is by far my absolute favorite picture of Chloe... ever! This is her REAL smile, which is rarely seen because she loves to ham & cheese it up. Isn't she just gorgeous?! We are so incredibly lucky to have two terrific, beautiful little girls :-)

Cutie Pies

Chloe was really excited to hug hold Berkley for this picture despite the expression on her face. Berkley wasn't really sure what to think, but she definitely tolerates a lot of love from her big sister. Chloe absolutely loves Berkley. She especially enjoys giving her kisses from head to toe :-) She talks to her and wants to help with things. The other day I asked her if she wanted to help give Berkley a bath, to which she replied, "No, you stay here, and I go give her a bath!" I can't wait to watch their relationship grow :-)
What a cutie pie!

Love this one with her little tongue out! She pulls some of the cutest faces :-)

Extremely goofy girl

Chloe is by far and away the goofiest, silliest little girl I know! She pulls the funniest faces & does hilarious things, but that's why we love her so much :-)
So Chloe decided to put around six headbands on... This is the result ;-)

Berkley

Berkley reminds us so much of Chloe: she's really quite alert for a newborn!
A profile shot. I love all the cute noises tiny babies make and the funny mouth movements they have :-) Berkley is no exception to these things!!

What a cute little smirk! She's such a doll!!
Showing off her adorable little outfit :-)
What a pose!
We took Berkley in for her 5 day visit, and she is doing great! Dr. McKenna was surprised that she has already returned to her birth weight after six days. It is typical for newborns to regain that lost weight by their 2-week visits, but Berkley's already got that goal met! It's so crazy how different pregnancies, labors/deliveries, and babies can be! We're just so blessed that we have two amazing girls that are healthy & happy :-)
