Chloe & baby Taya

Baby Taya, our best friends Kenny & Melanie's baby, arrived this Monday! And she is so cute! Chloe absolutely loved meeting her and holding her. It was so adorable to see her with Taya because she kept pointing out all of her body parts, touching her hair and saying it was "pretty," and then, when Taya moved, she was fascinated! She said, "Taya... moving!" It was as if she was thinking, 'Holy cow! She moved and none of my other babies move! This is cool!!' Here is Chloe giving her a big kiss :-)
This is as close as Chad felt comfortable taking her picture with a flash- she even squirmed and opened her eyes really wide with it this close!! To me, she looks like a great mix of Kenny & Mel!
Chloe loved looking at her and checking her out! So cute- I love it!! She & Taya will be really great friends someday :-)
Melanie made some flower hair clips a couple of weeks ago, and here is Chloe modeling them! She had five in her hair at one time :-)

Daddy's shoes & the plexiglass easel, sort of...

Chloe is chewing on her window markers! The caps were on, by the way :-) She really didn't want me to take her picture, but I did anyway!
This picture is probably sort of weird, but this is a picture of Chloe's art work with the window markers on her plexiglass easel- well, it's just plexiglass at the moment, but Chad is going to build a frame for it so that it is, in fact, an easel! She loved drawing on it and wiping it away. Just another media for creativity!
Chloe has been obsessed with putting her own shoes on and stepping into our shoes. The other day she said, "Daddy shoes... on!" I looked around the corner, and there she was standing in Chad's shoes. I'm assuming that some of you will look at this pic and think, 'Wow, her pajamas don't match!' It is not a figment of your imagination; they really DON'T match! The night before I could only find these two pieces- Chloe is infamous for walking off with separate pieces of clothing :-)

Chalk, chalk, chalk!

Chloe + chalk + the sidewalk = MESSY!
She stuck her nose in the chalk, and she even tried to eat the chalk...
... but she had a great time!
What a gorgeous, yet blue and chalky, smile :-)

Jello. More...?

So, I finally made jello molds to put in Chloe's sensory table. I've only had the jello sitting in the pantry for like two months! I have the best intentions.... Anyway, as you can see, she really got her hands dirty! She loved it and wasn't apprehensive at all about the texture :-) Yes, there are ice cubes in there too- she loves ice, so I thought I'd add it so that she'd have something familiar.
Squishing the slippery, smooth jello! This activity gave us a lot of new texture words to discuss and learn :-)
"Jello!" Well, at least you're getting the "o" in jello from this picture. If you're wondering about the title, allow me to explain. After all the jello had melted and colored water was left, she asked, "Jello more?" But, I didn't have any more jello. She was pretty sad, but was easily distracted by the remaining ice cubes! Just an interesting side note: I tried putting water and cornstarch in the sensory table today- for those of you who are unfamliar with its properties, cornstarch and water mixed is a liquid until you pick it up and it becomes a solid. It's really cool, but it scared Chloe so she kept saying, "Owie, owie." Then she asked for more jello... :-)

Cutie in the striped dress!

While I was giving Chloe her bath, I asked her if she wanted to wear the pretty dress I picked out for her to wear that day. She immediately said, "Uh huh. Church..." She's obviously made the correlation between wearing a dress and going to church :-) Doesn't she look so cute here on her bike?! This is a digression, but she will not let me help her pedal. She always says, "No Mama!" So, she still can only make one rotation, gets frustrated, and asks for help off...
Is this a cheeser or what?! I think I see a hint of Amity in this picture. What do you think?!
Blowing me kisses :-)
If this isn't a pose, I don't know what is! I love it- what a little model we have!!
That is her "HaHeh" face! She says that quite frequently when she's excited, and I just so happened to capture it on film this time.

Chloe's first hike

The other night we took a RZR ride up the canyon. Chloe always love to go and look for deer and elk, though we never see any. On this ride, we decided to hike a little, and Chloe absolutely loved it! We saw some pretty water running down the mountainside. We also saw some ducks in some pretty nasty looking water, but Chloe liked them nonetheless.

Shaving cream & Ice cubes

This is the aftermath of playing in her sensory table with shaving cream & ice cubes... Even though we wiped her off, she still smelled like shaving cream the rest of the night!
Putting the ice cubes in the bucket.
Cheese!
Dumping the ice cubes out!
Shaving cream was EVERYWHERE, but we both had a great time :-)

Rock-a-bye Chloe

Big cheeser!
Supe silly face :-)
She said "lemar" right as I took the picture!
Here's Chloe in her cradle. She loves to sit in it much more than actually putting babies in it! She climbs in and says, "Rock bye Chloe!" On this day she decided to bring her animals in with her.
Cheesing with her "hee haw" donkey

Silly, silly!

Super Cheese!!
Cheesing while eating cheese...

Quite a close-up! Beautiful!!

Goofy girlie :-)

Bike!

Chloe acquired a new bike when my family was visiting- thanks Mom & Dad! Here are some pictures of her playing on it because she is exceptionally far from riding it herself. And, she won't even let us remotely help her ride it either- it must not be her time yet! The bottom two pictures are of the summer decor we have outside by our door. Gram kept asking me what they looked like, so I just decided to put some pics on here! The summer sign watermelon Chad made out of a tree trunk & the flowers w/ lady bug is a stake- we made that one too! Please ignore our half dead flowers- not many of the flowers around here did very well- poor dirt and a crappy June were large contributing factors!
